Where Can I Serve?
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Avery Chapel AME Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Avery Chapel AME members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins.
The War Room Prayer Ministry
Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Avery Chapel AME Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers to our Prayer Warriors team, pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Wednesday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study. Join Now

Evangelism & Membership
The Evangelism Ministry at AVERY CHAPEL A.M.E. Church is focused upon making Jesus' last command our first concern. With this mind, we desire that everyone may know for certain whether or not they have Eternal Life. Evangelism Explosion III International (EE) is the primary tool used to train laypersons to become effective lay evangelists here at Avery. It is more fruitful to train a winner of souls than to merely win a soul is the chief principle upon which Evangelism Explosion III is based. EE equips lay people to share their faith through on-the-job witnessing experiences under the guidance of experienced trainers. Individuals who are prepared to commit to a day-a week, 12-week training ministry, are taught how to share the Gospel effectively, naturally and inoffensively. After completing the course, the trainees being empowered with confidence and sharpened evangelistic tools are now ready to carry on way of life evangelism. They are also skilled enough to assist in training more soul winners.
Membership The first priority is to help you move into a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. From that moment on, the vision of our Pastor, Rev. D. Lavel Crawford, Sr., through the ministry of Membership and Evangelism is to oversee your initial growth and development.
Here at Avery Chapel A.M.E. church we discourage mere church membership and strongly admonish all our members to become actively involved in executing the vision that God has given the ministry. Join Now

Music in our church should serve to help each individual find a "point of entry" into the worship experience. Our purpose is to glorify God as we worship Him in the beauty of holiness, and to present ourselves sanctified vessels to be used by Him. Through our ministry, we hope to admonish, edify and warn the saints and sinners through the message that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings. Join Now
Deaf Ministry (coming soon)

Any time a function is taking place in or outside the church we have an interpreter available.
The deaf are able to grow in the Lord by attending deaf Sunday school class. The Sunday school will be taught in their God given language: sign language. Because Sunday school is the heart of the church, the deaf members are able to apply Godly principles to the particle challenges deaf people face in the reality of their lives.
